ABOUT

Mr. Michael Leonard is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Mater Private Hospital, Tallaght University Hospital and Naas General Hospital.

He is also a Senior Lecturer in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Trinity College Dublin. His specialities include hip, knee and shoulder reconstruction as well as pelvic and acetabular trauma.

Mr. Leonard graduated with honours from Trinity College Dublin in 2002. He was awarded a Master’s degree in Surgery from Trinity College in 2007.  He then completed the Higher Surgical Training Scheme in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery (Royal College of Surgeons) and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in 2011.

Mr. Leonard completed advanced sub-speciality fellowship training in soft tissue arthroscopic shoulder and knee reconstruction, joint replacement and trauma in Europe and Australia in 2012-2013. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on orthopaedic surgery and has presented his work at multiple international meetings.
